Who We Are
Our story is not just business- it's personal too.
Since 1983, Gerry and Joe have been neighbors’ friends and have had a lifelong mentorship. Together their decades of experience have combined to create Management Consulting Alliance (MCA). Gerry having been involved in substantial industrial commercial turnarounds, ranging from the transportation industry to commercial property to logistics, began the concept of the Mid Management development in 1983. His ideas were and are decades ahead of modern contemporaries. Throughout his professional career, always perceiving business through multiple lenses, Gerry was able to develop and test concepts as each deal progressed.
Having been mentored by Gerry throughout his life and professional career, Joe began his professional career as an educator. His tenure covered Economics, History, Technology and Negotiations. Those capacities allowed for multiple years of research and application. He is adept in improving all aspects of corporate training. Throughout his career he was continually perfecting implementing the concepts of PI and ER and Turnarounds in private industry.
Utilizing Gerrys strategies, Joe has been successful improving valuations and profit utilizing Key Mid Management and turnarounds. Implementing profit improvement concepts, through Gerry’s tutelage his results are evident: improved production efficiency, COGs, % yield, supply chain resolutions, inventory controls, improved sustainability, profit improvement and expense reductions.

A Word From Gerry
From 1969-1974 I concluded my first turnaround. In 1969 I became General Manager of a bankrupt one million square foot warehouse building. Five years later I wrapped this adventure up as Chief Operating Officer of seven million square feet of warehouse operation spanning from Buffalo to Albany. This growth was just not limited to a 700% expansion in real estate, but also employee growth. From three to three hundred employees. The largest warehouse operation east of the Mississippi River.
Much of this massive turnaround was attributable to a simple method of “Predictive Analytics”. This method was simply a cash flow focused control system. By use of an income statement line item evaluated at all times against a cash flow projection. This was continually forecast twelve fiscal months. This was the principle process of Predictive Analytics. The process was tested and effective. Seven million square feet of warehouse on sound footing from bankruptcy in five years.
By 1983 I had several years of experience in turnarounds. During this era my concept evolved with a few additional components relative to the Predictive Analytics Cash Flow System. I had observed a theory with corporate turnarounds and Pre-Chapter 11 workout clientele: all had experienced multiple combinations of definable events prior to requiring my services. This prompted my writing of: Crisis Management Before the Management Crisis. This addition to the predictive analytics evolved into 10 Early Warning Signals. The theme of the book centers on a theory that the 10 Early Warning Signals and/or interrelated combinations thereof were omnipresent in all of my client business. The Early Warning Signals combinations were generally unknown to my clientele and rarely defined by them in advance. This analytical advantage enabled us to rapidly focus on the foundational causation which had grown to crisis proportions.
This was our second major lead in our quest to expand and perfect our “Predictive Analytics” approach. The two distinct theorems really improved our service quality and efficiency.
During 1997 I thought I wrapped up my crisis management career with the turnaround and merger of a two phase $83,000,000.00 transaction. I was the Chief Turnaround Officer of this entity. This merger’s success was directly attributable to the concepts I had developed and evolved into the Predictive Analytics Theory.
By 2004 after thirty+ turnarounds, I would step back from this intense business and retire. As I unwound, my thinking was drawn to the massive opportunities which Predictive Analytics can provide. This program benefits profit positive companies as well. The majority of businesses can benefit from Profit Improvement through our Predictive Analytics. During this era independently we implemented Profit Improvement strategies perfecting the process.
Today the predictive analytics that we provide is powerful, fast, and a precise program. This required several casual years to achieve. Our program implements our Predictive Analytics approach to develop Profit Improvement for clients. This program supports business Profit Improvement projects, also initial phase turnaround Pre-Chapter 11 workout projects, Mergers and Acquisitions, and sales of a business. Few companies endure 70 years of operations. In 1955 Fortune magazine embarked on publishing the Fortune 500 list. This list is comprised of the top 500 performing corporations in the U.S. The June of 2024 Fortune released the 70th anniversary edition. After 70 years of publishing the 500 list” Fortune published an article titled “The Strong Survive Meet the Class of 1955”. The article explains a concept based on their 70 years of data: Throughout the history of the list 451/500 largest corporations no longer remain on the list, operate independently, either bought out through Mergers and Acquisitions or cease to exist.
MCA developed this concept in 1983 when our copywritten book Crisis Management Before the Management Crisis was written. This book evaluated the impact of changing markets on small communities. Observations in 1983 concluded the same concept 85%-90% of businesses fail or are no longer sustainable in a changing market leading. MCA has one goal: to improve profit sustainability by utilizing the key mid-level management team of your organization
